Kouga is the dim-witted leader of a group called the "Youkai-Wolf Tribe" Kouga is a youkai that has taken on a human form and like so he looks like a person. After running into Inu-Yasha and the others, Kouga realizes that Kagome can see that he has Shikon shards in his one of his arms and both of his legs. Realizing that she can see the shards, he decides to kidnap her in order to help him destroy the Evil Birdies'  leader. The Gokuraku-chou (eveil birdies) are youkai that are basically a large head with wings and a human torso on top of their head. ---very scary looking) Kouga plans on making his tribe invincible by gathering all of the Shikon shards, and he realizes he'll need Kagome to make this happen. Later, Kouga decides that he'll "make Kagome his woman". (Looks like we've got another pervert here) Kagome tells Kouga that she and Inu-Yasha have feelings for one another, so Kouga explains that next time they meet, he'll kill Inu-Yasha.  Kouga and Inu-Yasha really don't like eachother. They're always fighting over Kagome. And it's more of a vocal fight than a physical fight. Though there is plenty of that too. Kouga isn't the brightest star in the sky. He has a very short term memory, and a very small attention-span. Oh ya, Kouga is really fast!
